Yeah, those Instagram reels of smiling couples parked next to waterfalls? They leave out the part where your black tank sensor lies to you, the AC wheezes in 100-degree heat, and the “Made in America” sticker peels off a plastic part that cracked after three weeks.
Hi. I’m Richard — and this is The McGuire Way.
I live full-time in an RV. I created this blog to document not just the freedom and adventure, but the real stuff no one warns you about. This is where I rant about the crap, but also share the fixes that actually work. Some I’ve learned the hard way, others I’ve stumbled into by dumb luck or duct tape. Often both.
💩 Rants You Can Expect
Why “quick cool down” vents are a scam
The overpriced garbage Forest River gets away with
When your “upgrade” turns into a downgrade
Why some repairs feel like sabotage from the factory
🔧 Fixes I’ll Show You
How I actually improved airflow better than the stock A/C system
Mods that are cheap, reversible, and actually make your rig more livable
Tools, parts, and hacks that have saved me time, money, and cussing
Things I wish I knew before I bought my rig (and what I’d do differently)
🚐 Why “The McGuire Way”?
Because I do things my way. No sugar-coating. No corporate-sponsored “advice” that leads you to a $300 gadget you didn’t need. This is about real-world RV life, told straight, with a little sarcasm and a lot of trial and error.
Whether you’re new to full-time RVing, shopping for your first rig, or just wondering if you’re the only one cursing at your fuse box — this blog is for you.
So here we go.
Subscribe, follow, or just stop by when you’re trying to figure out why your fan stopped working. I’ve probably ranted about it already.
See you down the road —
Richard
